OMS WEB
Where Everybody Belongs
What is WEB?
WEB is a middle school transition program that welcomes 6th graders (and 7th and 8th graders who are new to our school) and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their middle school experience.
WEB is built on the belief that students want to and can help other students succeed. This program trains members of the 8th grade class to be WEB Leaders; as positive role models, WEB Leaders are motivators, leaders and teachers who guide 6th graders to discover what it takes to be successful in middle school.
What impact does WEB have?
Testimony from students and parents indicates that not only does WEB create safety and comfort for our 6th grade students; it also creates a safe and positive learning environment for all students. Studies show that if students have a positive experience in middle school they have greater chances for continued success in high school and in their communities.
